He’d be the first to tell you that he wasn’t perfect. That’s the truth. We didn’t know him during his formative years, only from what he told us about his Vietnam period to the present and that time was filled with self-inflicted drama, obstacles, challenges and pain. It was also filled with hope, resolve and some few successes.
He was smart, empathetic, driven, flawed, generous, testy, undisciplined and loving. He was our Randy. Really proud of his affiliation with the 82nd, his history with them permanently inked into his skin.
Randy’s passion was his Bush Vets non-profit organization founded for the purpose of caring for homeless veterans across the nation. He worked tirelessly for others even when he was homeless himself.
Now he’s gone, not totally unexpected, but jolting nevertheless. We’ll miss you Randy. RIP brother.
